After a good show last night, the boys completely blew the roof of the place tonight - easily the best U2 show I've seen (including Slane) Maybe it's because it was saturday night but the crowd was easily twice as pumped as the night before - there was about 20 beach balls flying around, and some great Mexican waves. It was a beautiful Sydney night also.
After a 5 hour wait, we were very happy to find our way into the ellipse. The boys hit the stage at 8.45 and you could immediately tell the the sound was vastly better than the night before.
All 4 guys had smiles on their faces for the whole show - and yes, once again, the Edge was on fire (his family was in the house)
A few new songs tonight were exciting to hear - still haven't found was huge, desire was hilarious in its on the spot, not rehearsed vibe, and Stuck in a moment was stunning with a dedication to Michael Hutchence.
Snippets tonight included sergeant pepper/backbird in Beautiful Day, Kylie's "can't get you out of my head".
Also the outro tape tonight was a Go - Betweens song - Bono was great mates with singer Grant McClennan who passed away earlier in the year before Bono had these chance to catch up with him.
What a brilliant night - next show Monday!
