Again another fantastic night by the lads.
Even though this was my third Sydney show, it still seemed fresh and new, especially when we heard those amazing opening chords of "I Will Follow" - 4th song in...wow, who saw that coming ? Absolutely Brilliant !
As were the other two "newies" to the set Mysterious Ways and Party Girl which included some ad-libbing about Bono's recent jam with Kylie on Sunday night. But alas the singing budgie was nowhere to be seen tonight despite the rumours...
Other hightlights included "The Cousins" 4 little girls who joined Bono on the B-stage (with matching red headphones) who belonged to his brother Norm (not sure if he owns all of em !) but who was also in the audience.
Bono jumping into the crowd during Until the end of the World (?) and later explaining that taking 6 months off does turn you to drink -before showering the entire front row with a bottle of champagne. Ahh pure rock and roll !
The crowd was in good spirits although I think the older fans were few and far between compared to previous nights. I don't think many of the bozos that were near me had even heard much off Achtung Baby - let alone I Will Follow which was pretty disappointing.
But the main thing was that U2 were superb, they gave 110% and I just wish that I could roll back the last 4 days to see it all again ! Cheers Guys!
