To all the "old" fans out there that miss the white flag and all that, and wish U2 was the same band they were 14 years ago...GET OVER IT! U2 hasn't changed at all they are still evolving as a band. When they first came around in 1980 they started off big. In 1983 they were on the verge of superstardom. In 1987 they took over the world...all this before the age of 30. As evidenced by the show here in Pittsburgh, the so-called "spark" that works as the glue for these for guys as a band is still there!!!
Flawless and passionate, this tour is showcasing U2 as a rock and roll band...a true rock and roll band of which there are too few of today. They haven't reached the age of "40" yet, and are just hitting their creative peak (scary thought). This show proved that they still have what they had from the begining...the "spark." From MOFO to One, the spark was there in Pittsburgh For someone who missed out on Zoo TV and all the other tours, this was all I could've asked for from them. I definitely wasn't disappointed, the new songs were brilliant, and as a friend of mine said, "This blew the Rolling Stones '94 tour away."
I give U2 5 lemons out of five lemons for an excellent show. It was worth $52.50! Which divided by 22 songs is...$2.39 a song...Well worth it.
