Since 1984 I have been a big U2 fan and this was the first time I have seen them live! Well, 13 years was worth the wait. After I witnessed the literal transformation from Joshua Tree to ZooTV, I was convinced that U2 had conquered the music world; until Pittsburgh!
This was without a doubt the most energetic, mind blowing rock and roll experiece that anyone coud have ever imagined. As Bono was quoted saying "Pop-Mart will swamp stadiums." He was dead on! The intro of "Popmuzik---MoFo" sent chills down my spine. The way the band came through the crowd in the likes of a prize fight was fantastic! I thought all of the selections from "Pop" sounded terrific. "Gone", "Miami", and "Please" were highlights of the night. Also the continuing saga of "Bullet the Blue Sky" renditions from tour to tour just amazes me. How can it get any better? My seats were not all that great, but with the giant screen behind the band it made people in the cheap seats feel very close. Also the Cat walk into the crowd was great. Overall, I was amazed, thrilled and just plain blown away by the entire show! Bono, Edge, Larry, and Adam still leave me mind boggled as to how they can continue to offer us--the U2 fans--more and more without ever taking away! U2 is truly the best live band that anyone will ever see!
