My wife and I attended the Toads Place show Nov. 1981 on a whim as we walked by the venue. We had both vaguely heard of the band and with free admission with college ID we said what the heck. Not knowing what to expect, we were obviously bowled over by the raw power of the band. I estimate the crowd to be at approx 100 to 200 people. I really cant add to the details due to the passage of time, but I will always remember meeting the band at the bar after the gig. for some reason I thought they played "I Will Follow" three times instead of the two listed for the setlist on this site. We also attended the stage West show in Hartford CT a few weeks later. The first two shows of many.
