Wow, Houston 2005 was my first ever U2 show and it far surpassed my expectations. I drove 5 hrs to get there, and it was well worth it. The setlist was great, and for me the highlights were COBL, Streets, Miss Sarajevo (even though not many people were into it, or even knew the song), and Sunday Bloody Sunday. The whole show was awesome.
A moment I will hardly forget is when Bono mentioned seeing many flags he liked, and then asked for the Mexican flag, and tossed it over his shoulder and held it there for a while. Being a Mexican, I thought it was really cool.
I really hope they tour near me next year so I can catch another show. Even though at the beginning the band seemed to be a little off, they quickly got into the mood, as well as the audience, and the rest of the show was memorable. Finally, I was hoping we'd get Bad as the closer, but it didn't happen. Oh well, you can't have everything.
As a little constructive criticism, I'd say I would like them to get a little more material from Achtung/Zooropa into the set, especially Stay, which is my favorite U2 song of all time.
Anyways, it was one of the best shows I've ever seen of any band. The production is amazing, the music is great, and the band is one of the biggest ever. Keep rocking and inspiring us U2!!!!
