My husband and I saw U2 during the 1st leg while vacationing in Denver. It was good but it didn't even compare to Houston! U2 gave it their all but the fans were too layed back. Not the case in Houston. Houston pumped A LOT OF ENERGY into the arena and really showed U2 a lot of L O V E !!! It was evident that Bono was a bit astonished himself at how the Houston crowd reacted. He said "Wow! this is crazy!"
They opened with "City of Blinding Lights". Absolutely Beautiful! It is one of my faves on the new album and it worked great as an opening song! My other personal favorites were the old tunes like "Electric Co." and "I Will Follow". A note to the folks that stepped out to get beer during these songs (b/c they are not familiar with the older songs)...Please, LISTEN to the early albums. You don't know what you are missing! Moving on.....
Another favorite was "Miss Sarajevo". Bono was amazing!! That was definately the show stopper for me. Then "Pride" - Terrific. Then they went into "Where the Streets have No name". The crowd's deafening roar should sum it up. AWESOME! Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry know how to do it. Thank you U2 from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful music and for sharing it with your fans.
