Drove from Minneapolis to see the band with this being my 7th concert going back to 3/19/85. Like other fan reviews here, thought something was missing...not sure what though. I've come to "expect" a sort of emotional catharsis with every show but it only happened in spots in this one. I sat next to a couple in Section 114, row 13. They too drove 6+ hours from Ames, IA to get to UC. Her "favorite" was Larry, mine The Edge...so the seats had good sight lines for that.
Overall, the highlights for me were The Edge and the awesome sounds he continues to invent and get out of his guitars. The Fly and BTBS were great. Adams exploration around the elipse was fun, so was the added backup vocals by Larry. Bono seemed tired. I hope the band gets their "legs" by the time they come to Minneapolis for the 9/23 show.
