This looked to me like a very basic U2 performance. Bono didn't improvise a cover snippet all night. It looked as if the band was concentrating on playing each song for the DVD at the expense of making a strong connection with the crowd. There were moments that gave me goose bumps, but overall the magic of the Elevation Tour was missing. I'm surprised the ellipse is being used as it's so similiar to the heart from the last tour. Couldn't they come up with something different? Also, I thought the lighting was cool, but not great. Like Bono in particular, I thought the crowd was going through instead of responding in the moment. A great band like U2 has a lot to live up to. It was a good concert, but didn't come close to becoming transcendent like some of their shows of the past.
