My wife and I drove in from Detroit for the show - our first night away from our 6 mos. old baby daughter! Mom and Dad survived, as did our little girl. What a great night it turned out to be in Chicago -- I had been reading the less than enthusiatic posts about the previous three performances in Chicago, and was nervous that I was not about to see U2 at their best. Having seen them at least once during every tour since Joshua Tree, the boys have never let me down. Tonites perfomance, was no exception! Loved the mixed-up set list! It was great hearing "Gloria" and the return of "UTEOW". Loved the stripped down "Orignal of the Species". By the way, did anyone else notice that Edge messed up his solo during "The Fly"? I mean its okay, it still sounded awesome - I thought maybe he broak a string. A killer ending with "Bad"...probably the best performance of "Bad" I've heard from them since the Joshua Tree tour. And Bono's voice is the best I've heard him since Zoo TV. His voice was getting concerning during PopMart and Elevation (at times). All in all the sound at the United Center was great, and the show was worth every penny. Looking forward to seeing the boys again in Detroit in October!
One more thought, or wish for U2: let's hear "Crumbs From Your Table" when you return to the states this fall!
