The May 15th show at The United Center was U2 at their spirited best. Despite all contrary claims that the band was planning on scaling down, the innovation and pyrotechnical displays put on were outstanding. After the Chicago PopMart shows, it was hard to imagine that they could top themselves. They just did. Highlights included Elevation, In a Little While, Bad, With or Without You and The Fly. We love bono. he is such a ham, running around the heart shaped catwalk. Edge, Adam and Larry were dolls as usual. The United Center acoustics were godawful, but U2 more than made up for their somewhat stilted surroundings. The layout of the stage was tasteful yet creative. Bono was the ultimate showman, and the Little Band From Dublin That Could simply blew the roof off. Bravo, gentlemen. God bless U2. Check out the Elevation Tour. Its beauty will be the only sure-fire thing in this world. U2 are here to stay. Salute them.
