We began our drive up to Chicago with great anticipation. There were four of us, myself, Melissa, Alan, and Ryan and we were attending our first ever U2 concert. I really didn't know what to expect having only become a true fan of the band about 6 months before All That You Can't Leave Behind came out. I had seen videotapes of their previous shows and was curious as to how they would return to an arena setting.
We got lost once we were in Chicago, but after finally arriving and moving down to the floor, I couldn't believe how lucky we were to get so close to the ramp! At the start of the show I joined everyone else in jumping up and down with excitement as it hit me "This is REALLY U2! I'm HERE!"
I couldn't have asked for a better set, they ran through an entire "Achtung Baby" set in the beginning, which included "The Fly" - my favorite U2 song. To be in that type of crowd is something everyone should experience. To see this mass of thousands of people never sitting down, and singing every word to every song was simply incredible! U2 grabs your heart and takes you on a journey in which you are sure to soar!
