I don't see how anyone could say this show was mailed in. I've seen to about 30 shows since my first on the Unforgettable Fire tour
and this was one of the most powerful yet.
All U2 shows are great, but this had a powerful vibe, while at the same time being respectful of the difficult situation our country was in. The band was energetic and fed off the fans. I'm not from Chicago, but I've seen the band in about ten different cities, and I can tell you the band loves Chicago (Boston being the other big US U2 city). Any U2 show in Chicago will be special, just look at all of the Chicago bootlegs.
I've always felt that a fan's concert experience not only is a result of the music, but their seats, the energy in their section, etc. Yes the show was shorter, but the power and effort was there. I hate to use the word magical, but I think I have to.
