Bono and the band's attempt at "intimacy on a grand scale" fell a bit short in my opinion last night. Don't get me wrong...the sound, production, and overall performance were amazing, but all felt a bit rehearsed.(Radio Tehran, etc.) I know that there are only a few shows left on this leg and that the band and crew were working out the final kinks for the filming in LA on Sunday, but my all-time favorite band did not resonate with me last night. In my opinion we were spoiled during the ATYCLB and HTDAAB tours with an experience of such intimacy that anything different seems less than enough. An unfair feeling towards the band, but true. All that being said, a less than spectacular night with U2 is better than the best night with any other band on the planet.
