On a night where the boys brought it, the fans could have done better. As always, the start of the show is pretty intense with COBL, Vertigo, Elevation, and Gloria but after that the fans loose their edge. Bono tried many times to keep everyone going with Pride and even 40. Last week people were singing on their way to the parking lot, this week the singing ended when the lights turned on. Bono even had to ask twice for people to turn on their cell phones during One. I'm not sure if people heard him the first time. Other posts talk about how if the crowd is into it the band will play vertigo again at the end. We didn't get that.
With or Without You and Gloria were nice additions to the set list, I think WOWOY has been played only once or twice during the tour so far. Note that Bono likes to bring the brunettes onto stage, sorry blondes. 93.3 obtained a copy of the set list and we were supposed to get Bad for an ending. The band probably should have done that because the fans couldn't sing a chorus, also, would have been great to hear because we ended with 40 last week. The band put on an excellent show and was more interactive with the fans this week as compared to last week. I thought the sound was better this week as well.
I agree with an earlier post about the zoo station encore. That's some of their heaviest stuff and people on the floor weren't moving. Achtung Baby was one of the best albums of the 90s, maybe people should buy it, download it (legally of course) and listen to it. It would have rocked more had they added Until the End of the World. To finish, as Bono and the band promote the one campaign, I am on board but would like to start a campaign of my own, the Crumbs and Two Hearts campaign. I hope they play one or both in the fall. Till then...if you haven't seen these guys live you have to. You can't begin to explain the emotion the band brings. All we as fans have to do is reciprocate that emotion.
