Oh My!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simply incredible. The perfect night. BRUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally got in the ellipse and had a great spot on the right side on the rail. Surrounded by cool people of course.
The first 5 songs were the best 20 minutes of a U2 show ever. Edge and Bono on the walkway ripping through Electric Co. was great. That song rocked tonight. I will Follow was a pleasant surprise. A solid 10.
The rest of the set was really good, but not as good as Elevation (but close). A solid 8.
I was surprised when the 1st encore started with acoustic since that was what it was the night before. "Strange" I thought. But Walk on was really good. Fast Cars rocked again. But then...........
Bono says they will play People Get Ready when Bruce Springsteen comes out!!!!! The place went ballistic, absolutely nuts. They rocked out the song as the crowd roared "Bruuuuuuuuuuuce" Then Bono coaxed Bruce's wife Patti out to sing along. Cool again. Bono walks off then Bruce sings "People get ready, there's a train going to New Jersey!" (I think that was it). Again the crowd was deafening. A solid 11.
They finished with WOWY and 40 sacrificing Yahweh, but no problem at all. The show started at 8:45 (warning to latecomers) and ended at 11.
I was at the 1987 JFK show where Bruce joined them for Stand By Me - what a great bookend for my U2 shows. Right now this show is in my top 2 out of 15. But I am a little lightheaded and doozy.
