All I can say is..OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!! This show was AMAZING!!! My first U2 show was June 12, 2001, Elevation and I swore no other concert would top it..BUT THEN the unthinkable happened!! Last night was THE BEST concert I have EVER been to! I have never seen such energy from the crowd and the band and Bono could not have been more "on." The setlist was great. I went to the May 22nd show in Philly which was awesome but the setlist for last night might have been perfect.
I Will Follow took the place of the Ocean which was such a great performance. I have been waiting and waiting to hear I Still Haven't Found and I got that! Miss Sarajevo quieted the mood a bit, but I don't think the crowd lost interest. I was blown away when Bono hit those operatic notes that Pavorotti normally does. Fast Cars was so unbelievable. Bono said that they were going to play it, even though "no one knows it" but the crowd really responded well even for those who didn't know it! He did his little salsa dance while Edge did things with his guitar that I didn't even think were possible!
After Fast Cars, Bono said something about "People Get Ready" but he said they needed a guitar player. All of a sudden, there is a guitar and it is handed to BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. I don't think I've ever been more surprised at a concert! They of course sang People Get Ready and it was just too amazing for words.
The whole concert was amazing, I don't think there is a better word to describe it. Thanks boys for the best night ever!
