This was my second show of the tour; 1st night at Croke Park was the other. Now that show left my speechless at the end - it really was magnificent.
Last night's show at Wembley was no better or worse, but quite different. The band seemed looser, but without quite the incredible energy of Croke. Hardly surprising I suppose - what could ever hit those heights?
The enclosed space of Wembley stadium, a darker evening, the 360 experience: all of this made the Claw so much more impressive. There are times when you have to catch your breath at the show in front of you.
Standout songs:
Get On Your Boots: this has become the most awesome rocker live
I still haven't found: not only did Bono not sing the fist verse, but Edge and Adam stopped playing, the crowd were lit up and it was a mass singalong. Amazing
City OF Blinding Lights: spectacular
Vertigo: the hardest rocking song of the night
This is the greatest band in the world. Been together for over 30 years, constantly evolving, creating new music, still mates, still setting the standard for live music. They are, quite simply, MAGNIFICENT.
