U2 in Turin: Rehearsals, New Merchandise and More

The European leg of the Innocence + Experience tour is less than 24 hours away. Showtime for tickets to Friday's gig in Turin list a 7:30 pm local start time, so we'd expect the band to take the stage around 8:15-8:30 pm as they did at most of the North American shows.

SPOILER ALERT....

The band began rehearsals on Monday and the Italian fan site U2 Place reported one new song was played, along with a new outro/snippet after "Bullet The Blue Sky." That same outro/snippet was heard a couple times this week, so we expect it to replace the U.S.-centric outro/snippet of "The Hands That Built America" from the first leg. (Other than that, I wouldn't expect any dramatic changes to begin the second leg this weekend.)

Merchandise booths opened up today outside the venue and U2tour.de has been tweeting out some photos with a few shirts that weren't sold in North America.

I'm not seeing those new items in the U2.com store yet, either, but perhaps they'll be added soon.

Our plan tomorrow is similar to what we did during the first leg: If there are live video/audio streams from fans, we'll be live tweeting the set list and chatting about the show as it happens. If time allows, we also hope to host a live video chat after the show to talk about the show, get your reactions and more. Best thing to do is follow us on Twitter and join us online tomorrow! Turin is six hours ahead of the U.S. east coast, so we expect the show to begin around 2:15 pm ET.
