It looks like U2 -- or at least Bono and The Edge -- are set to appear via pre-recorded video on a CBS-TV special Sunday night marking what would've been Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday. Here's the strange and confusing part: On Friday, CBS posted an article on its website saying "All The Performers Have Finally Been Revealed" and there's no mention of U2, Bono or The Edge. But CBS is also running a 30-second commercial promoting the show, and right in the middle it specifically mentions "U2" as one of the performers and shows Bono and Edge on the I+E tour's e-stage. A screenshot of that is above, and you can watch the commercial online.
Best guess is that this is the performance of "Two Shots Of Happy, One Shot Of Sad" that some fans heard during the afternoon soundcheck before U2's November 2 concert at the O2 Arena in London. We even speculated in the recap of that show that the song was done for a TV special.
The TV program, Sinatra 100: An All-Star GRAMMY Concert, is set to air Sunday at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
UPDATE: A Grammy spokesperson has confirmed that U2 will be on the show.
