In a word - Wow.
After waiting 8 months, we flew out of Perth Thursday morning with the airline crew wishing all the punters the best (the were a few on the plane). We arrived at the stadium around 4pm, and still got into the Ellipse.
Loved the setlist, a good mixture of new and old. They guys all moved around to spots on the stage, giving us great viewing opportunities.
Highlight for me would have to be Bono singing Sometimes to his dad on the screen. Also seeing everyone's reaction to a guy who looked very similar to Bono in the crowd made for a good laugh - once we knew it wasn't Bono!!!
Too all those who didn't like Kanye - Given the size of the crowd, playing in daylight and the style of music, I personally think that he did a great job (although I am not really a Kanye fan). I got to see Dashboard Confessional as support in Chicago last year, and Kanye did a much better job (just my opinion, my wife didn't enjoy him at all).
