I knew when we began with a long sequence of Elevation "whoo-hoos" before the band even came out that we would be in for quite a show. Though the set was relatively short, the boys were really into it. Edge was simply amazing tonight- I don't think he could have played any better. Bono was quite the showman as always. He spent most of the night on the ramp, sprinting, dancing, karate kicking and posing. (I was sitting in the second row directly in front of Bono, and I promise he looked me dead in the eye during "New Year's Day" and "New York"). As Adam and Larry, they were breathing, which is more than usual. Larry was almost inspired.
Elevation, Fly, Streets, Mysterious Ways, Bullet, and One stick out in my mind as the highlights. "One" was probably the best pure perfomance. The long intro to "Streets" got the crowd into an absolute frenzy. It was an amazing show.
So far, the Elevation tour is living up to expectations. The boys go out night in and night out proving that yes, indeed, they deserve "the job".
