The Charlotte show was the first U2 I have seen. I am not a die-hard U2 fan, but I have always like them....This was the day after my birthday so I figured why not, present to myself :) I really enjoyed it....lots of energy, refreshing energy. It was different because I am used to Phish shows, Allman Brothers, and Dave Matthews, where the cheers are in slow motion because of an intoxication of some sort. I mean at Phish shows, as soon as the lights go down, lighters go up! Anyway, I think the most intoxicated person at the show may have been Bono. He repeatedly lied on speakers and the floor for minutes at a time. Maybe that is just what he does but it seemed alittle fishy to me. I hear that U2's plane into Charlotte was delayed because of rain/ice which caused them to play a shortened concert but oh well. It was cool. Bono thanked us for coming out in the rain, lol....and that they have been through alot over the years and he thanked us for "putting up with it"....whatever that meant...
...overall...."refreshing"
