For Fan_since_84 you got it wrong about that little boy on stage. You are talking about my son. He so wanted to go on stage with Bono and he had to go for a pee (he's only 6). This was his 3rd U2 concert this tour (my 36th one since 1985). When Love and Peace started he said "Mommy, I can't go pee now because Sunday Bloody Sunday is next." Yes, during Bullet the Blue Sky he and my daughter(age 9)left with my husband to go to the bathroom. Remember, they are children! They were back before Miss Sarajevo started and we did not leave until LONG after the show ended. Dallas even gave both of my kids a pick at the end of the night, which they are treasuring dearly. It was not planted that Thomas was selected. Some fans around us held him up so that Bono would see him.
So, shame on you for your statements! We have NEVER left a show early. Obviously you didn't look for us very hard!
As for the show, of course it was a highlight for me (my 6th of the tour and FINALLY after 20 years back in my home town). I expected a typical Ottawa crowd and to my surprise I found that it had a lot more energy than the Toronto shows I saw. Of course, nothing can rival the noise of a Montreal crowd.
So U2, thanks for coming back to Ottawa.
I took a couple of photos on Thomas on stage, but would love to get more. Thank you Tony for videotaping it for us.
