They left us waiting long enough for their return, but boy was it worth it!! What a night, what a show, what a band!! I am privileged enough to have seen U2 three times now and each time I have firmly believed it would be their last world tour. On Friday night's evidence, they could go on for another 20 years!!
The concert opened with a bang, it was as if Vertigo was written specifically to use as an opening song. They proceded to bang out tune after tune, but I must say the opening sequences lacked some of their renowned energy. Then the light began to dim, and Bono found his range. City of Blinding Lights was every bit as epic as I had hoped, and the encores were nothing short of stunning. Bono apologised to the residents for going past the 11pm mark, but by that stage he was enjoying himself too much. A stunning concert from the best band in the world, bar none!!
