Having grown up with a sister who has been going to see them since 1981 !!!! I decided I had to give it a go and boy did they give it a go.
We arrived at Croke Park at 1745ish and strolled on to the pitch. I was terrified of going up the front but decided to see how packed it was getting. The place was empty, which I can only put down to the fact that it was a Monday and everyone was legging it home from work, and six of us strolled into the pit. So I can only say that although it took me 20 years to see them in Croke Park it sure worked out great. I was nearly able to touch the hand of God (BONO) and really felt part of the craic. It was also amazing to look around at the stands and to see everyone going mental when the opening strains of Gloria, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Pride echoed. The sound where I was was excellent but I could hear the echo so I can only have sympathy with the people who didnt hear it as well as I did.
Not since the out of this world Paul McCartney concert of May 2003 in Dublin have I come away from a concert feeling as I did and from a Lunatic Beatle fan that is praise indeed.
Keep on rocking and rolling lads !!!!!!
