My first U2 arena show (unfortunately from behind the stage). It was postponed from earlier in the month with no explanation (of course I showed up that night), so anticipation was high. All in all a really solid show, although I remember thinking it was too short at the time, only 15 songs or so.
It kicked off with a vibrant 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, and went on from there. Bad was particularly moving (no surprise), with a snippet of Ruby Tuesday and a nice simple speech beforehand about Dublin City and heroin, ending with "it has a lot of good, and a lot of bad. This is Bad."
At one point during the concert, Bono threw back a flag into the crowd and an intense scuffle ensued in front. He stopped singing and declared "If you're still fighting over that flag, you've come to the wrong concert." (Cheers, Dramatic Pause) "There's been enough fighting over flags!" (Louder cheers - how cool was that?) Of course the fighting ceased immediately.
It definitely had the U2 magic -- I'm still hooked on U2 arena shows 20 years on!
