Wow. What a great night. I have seen Bono and the boys 20 or so time over the years. This was my first (and last )chance to see them on the 360 tour.
First off Bono was in fine fettle. He sounded great. I mean almost amazingly great . He hasn't lost anything over the years. I just love the way he thanks and appreciates America . He loves America and her ideals more than many who are from here.
The Edge was tearing it up , Adam and Larry were thunderous and crowd was eating it all up. I really think they have mastered the stadium sound . The stage show was equally impressive and really had to be seen to be appreciated.
There were many special moments . I really enjoyed
Zooropa and the spectacular light effects that accompanied it. Stay is another one of my all time favorites and sounded beautiful last night.
The highlight had to be the awe inspiring rendition of Bad . I was hoping so much they would include this song. Then I heard those first couple of chords from the Edge . I was blown away. Bono made a comment like " we are going to try and place this song for you". I knew it had been a while since they had. It was even more powerful and moving than I remember.
I also want to say how wonderful all the people I met last night were. I am from Pittsburgh but I think I was in the minority. I talked to folks from Canada, Tx, Chicago, England and just about everywhere in between. There are no better people anywhere than at a U2 concert. Its been that way since the first one I saw in 83.
Thanks again U2. You have been the soundtrack of my life for many years. You continue to amaze and inspire. Sometimes we forget what is important and get caught up in the daily challenges of this life. Last night once again touched me on a deep spiritual level when I needed it the most.
