There woulda been 2 encores. After Mysterious Ways, Bono casually walked the dancer back to her place at the tip of the pit instead of leaving the stage for the first break. Edge and Adam gave their guitars to their roadies so they could make their stage exit, then stood there and were quite unhelpful while things got more and more embarrassing for Bono as the crowd got quieter (except for the sweet kiss on the cheek that she gave Bono.) Bono took about 5 steps back up a ramp and realized he'd completely forgotten that they're supposed to have an encore break at that point. Edge gave him a double-point with a big grin from the main stage to rub it in. Bono cued the band to play Pride, "the next song starts with a high note." They didn't get it, so he talked into Edge's and Adam's ear and got it set.
Don't clap during Running to Stand Still. Happy Fun Bono doesn't like that since it's about heroin addiction.
The Bruce Cockburn quoted lines from God Part II made it into One. "gonna kick the darkness, 'til it bleeds daylight." The words "wedding day" made it into New Year's Day for unknown reasons. Prince Phillip?
2nd San Jose Elevation sorta "ruined" concerts for a lot of us. We _know_ what can happen and it'll probably never get remotely close to that again, obvious when the concerts start. It's kinda like having Army buddies after a war, we've all been there and nobody else will understand... including us. heh.
Sound should be a lot better tonight, but the mix is a bit on the trebly/harsh side.
