I just got home from a transcontinental jaunt to see our boys. Others have said that the show wasn't perfect, but I thought it was pretty close. I loved how the set list referenced various points of U2's development, from the songs played by an embryonic U2 in tiny clubs around the world to the over-the-top Zoo TV era.
It was absolutely amazing to be on the floor, no more than 5 feet away from Bono, as he belted out the emotional climax of the deeply personal Sometimes You Can't Make It on Your Own. The African influences in Where the Streets Have No Name added another level of meaning to U2's seminal song. And to top it all off, 40 performed the way it ought to be! What a night!
Finally, I'd like to give a special shout-out to all those in the GA line between 100 and 150!
