Everyone everyone everyone! With the familiar intro to the tour, tonight's show got off to a fantastic and energetic start, at least from my point of view behind the stage. I hope at least that we were more pumped up in San Jose today than the reviewers said about the audience yesterday. U2 is too good to have 2 weak audiences in a row.
Compared to opening night in San Diego and the first night in LA, this show seemed smoother and more daring than ever, with more Bono yapping and more Adam and Edge wandering on the ellipse. They even debuted Original of the Species, which is a great song live and one of my favorites on HTDAAB. I hope they keep playing it and bringing down the house with it.
They also flipped around the set list a little bit - swapping the Achtung songs (in tonight's case, The Fly and Mysterious Ways) with the Pride-Streets-One trio, so that they led off the encore with the Fly as opposed to Pride. Couldn't really say which I prefer, it's all good!
