I attended both San Jose shows. Each rocked--way exceeded my expectations. I went to the shows hoping that U2 would perform lots of songs off the new album, and they did not dissappoint: they even played Original of the Species.
A fan of some 23 years, the Boy tunes were a treat. U2 played Electric Co. (I first saw them perform this song during Joshua Tree) and An Cat Dubh and Into the Heart. I tell you, I could listen to U2 perform the whole Boy album. These songs fit the show well.
Other highlights included Bullet the Blue Sky, which I was tired of hearing live until they infused Hand that Built America and When Johnny Comes Marching Home. U2 should stop playing some of the other classics--or else change them up. It's not that I don't want to hear New Years Day or Sunday Bloody Sunday, but one or the other, not both.
Running to Stand Still was powerful. So too Miracle Drug (this song has to be their best on the new album and comes off great live).
Liked the show greatly, but imagine U2 will have to do something different next time. Looked a lot like the Elevation Tour, but with better songs.
