Long time u2 fan. Went to 4 elevation shows.
and just went to the San Jose Saturday show, my first of this tour. So I have to say, what the heck happened to the sound u2? You have gotta somehow correct that. I really had
a tough time hearing any words. the big notes were
so muffled it almost hurt. I always give u2 the benefit of the doubt but
that's just seems irresponsible of the sound guy. Don't play there if you know it's
going to be that bad. Or, tell the crowd that you know the sounds a bit off and then they'll get behind you.
It's unconditional love with us fans so that would work.
I finally converted my wife
to being a u2 fan, big time, and she walked away feeling like it was such
a buzz kill. Still respects and loves the band, but
felt like that's like something that has gotta be handled. With that said, I'm going to four more this tour, and like
Elevation, 9 times out of 10, they deliver a magical sonic sound and inspiring mood that is uncopiable.
In fact, that what was so frustrating. I think bono a
and the band were actually pretty on it Saturday, but they were so underminded by the sound and accoustics. The stripped down
stage demands good accoustics. Bad accoustics
is something you expect from a big thing like POP
staging. Good to see that Sunday went a lot better
apparently so perhaps they felt the sound problem
themselves and fixed it. To note, lot of people seem
to want them to drop the old 'an cat dubh' and electric
company songs. But I'd say keep em. They should just
put a bit more energy in to them, and perhaps
show some pix of themselves on the big screen in
those days. share the beginning with new people
who come to the shows.
then again, I'm sure u2 is already on it and
things will just keep gettin betta and betta....
