Well Then...... Where do I begin?... Was at the stadium since 12:30. Anticipated a tailgate of 20-30 people. WRONG!!! More like 80-100. What a feeling to have so many people come out and appreciate what I have for so long. I've been to 35 shows all over the world and this was my 8th this tour. Living here, Philly, this show was special to me. I had 10-15 people at the tailgate who never went to a U2 show come up to me and say, Wow 35 times, what is it that makes you come time after time? My response, wait a couple hours and you'll know why! If your reading this then your a FAN like me and you know why. We all have a moment in time where a song has hit us with such passion and meaning of what we were going through at that moment that it becomes a part of you, part of your history.... That is U2!
The Philly show was Great... For the first time I sat in "nice seats" club level... Ehhhh ... Not again! The band and show was great and nice to get a different perspective but my area wasn't the liveliest group. My wife and I and one other guy were the only ones standing through the whole show... At least I could get a cocktail!
BUT, I was in Miami a few shows back and the energy the band had in Philly blew it away! Watching the floor wave their hands in motion was like watching a wave roll through the ocean, just awesome! The guys had the crowd from the beginning and never let go!
So... All those first timers, well........NOW THEY KNOW! Why it's my 35th show. I must have gotten 20 emails saying how awesome it was and totally unexpected! To me, that is the true review.... I've seen some of my most memorable in my life and some so so moments like most of you, but it's that history of you and them that makes it UNFORGETTABLE!
PEACE--
