I carried away a collection of moments that I won't forget...
...the single spotlight falling through the darkness onto Bono when he sang "MLK"...
...the Edge's rapid fire guitar work on "Wire" combined with rapid fire white stage lights...
...Bono pulling a girl out of the audience and slow dancing with her. What a way to connect with the audience. At a typical rock band's show, the girls would be half naked, dancing in cages or fawning over the singer...
...the giant Martin Luther King banner that came down behind the stage during "Pride"...
...all of "Bad." Mesmerizing...
...Bono hefting a stage light and sweeping it across the crowd. I felt a part of the experience, recognized in a way...
...the crowd singing "40" with Bono, the band members leaving the stage one by one, and the crowd not only continuing to sing, but singing together on our way out! I'd never felt so close to that many people before...
...my dad, who drove us, picked me and my friend up outside and asked, "How was it?" I said that it was a religious experience, and he looked a little worried...:)
Best,
Doug King
