This is probably the best U2 show I've seen. I saw this tour in Raleigh in 09 and this one blew it out of the water. I'm glad they scrapped several of the songs from the new album, but I wish they'd kept Magnificent because that one plays beautifully to a stadium and is such an energetic delight.
I was thrilled to bits when they opened with four songs from Achtung, Baby! I love that album. The crowd didn't really start going crazy until Mysterious Ways and then it was just a party. Zooropa and the I'll Go Crazy remix were excellent; Miss Sarajevo was great, and the Kathy Giffords tribute was very moving.
Also very glad they scrapped Bullet the Blue Sky - just never been that into that song.
Moment of Surrender was kind of meh and I wish the concert had ended with a better song. Please resurrect BAD - I want to hear that live at least once before I die.
The Aung San Sui Kyi tribute really fell flat. They did the same thing in 09 and it didn't work then either. The Iran part was ok, but a bigger tie-in to the Arab Spring would have resonated a little better.
Our seats were in the endzone and even though we were far away the show was still great, and the sound was fantastic.
Loved it!
