Watching this show took me back to my U2 roots when I spun many the songs from their first three albums at Mean Mr. Mustard’s in Columbus, OH on the campus of Ohio State University. Hearing New Years Day, Out of Control, and 11 O’Clock Tick Tock almost got me slam-dancing again. Thanks Earl the Squirrel for turning me onto this great band in the early 80’s.
The tribute to Joey Ramone was very moving and I thought the acoustic version of Staring at the Sun was awesome. I would like to see Bono and The Edge do an all-acoustic tour similar to what Springsteen did a few years ago. That would be cool.
My seats were on the back corner of the stage on Adam’s side. I paid handsomely for these $50 seats but it was worth every penny to see them on the last night of MSG. I knew someone special was going to happen and it did with the aforementioned songs and the appearance of Daniel Lanois.
These seats provide a great vantage point for seeing the stage though you see a lot of the backs of the band. The guy who provided the Irish Flag to Bono was in our section but I couldn’t react fast enough to get a good photo. That disappoints me. I did take some other photos that came out OK. Anyone in the Heart might want to check them out because you may see yourself.
Enjoy and Elevate your Soul!
