How very strange before the show. The bad weather in Berlin, the happenings in London, the Live 8 a couple nights before and a lot of attention from Bono on all of the worlds anger and pain. Still the show turned out to be the opposite. From the opening song U2 went into a energy-phase and the crowd was into it too. A good combination to get the first show in the newly rebuild stadium housing 75.000 people. There were a few comments from Bono to the recent happenings but it clearly not interfeared with the music. The sound was great in the stadium. No problem with the massive setup. A brief problem with the small screens at the beginning of the show but a few songs into it that was resolved.
Overall it was the best show I've been to so far. Newspapers reviewed the show the next day as if there was a dark shadow over it. I never noticed. Our party had a great time and we're looking forward to seeing them again in Amsterdam.
