What an awesome show! This was my 10th U2 show, and this may have been the best crowd (along with 9/25/87 at JFK in Philly) that I have ever been a part of. Right from the start, they stood (never sat) and fist pumped the whole night. They sang along, singing loud, and long, never missing a beat. Bono said, while it was Monday night in the Motor City, it felt like a Saturday night. As for the band, I thought they sounded great. They were crisp and energetic. Bono's voice was in great shape, and The Edge, Adam, and Larry were on top of their game. I saw them in Chicago on May 10th, and while I thought that was a great show, this one was even better. Highlights for me: I Still Haven't Found..., Miss Sarajevo, Streets, Vertigo, Bono's story of how they all met the Edge (came from the future in a space ship....what is the future like? "It's better," said the Edge) and of course City Of Blinding Lights. I still think the way U2 opens up their shows (for all tours) sets an impossible standard for other bands to reach. I'm getting goosebumps now just thinking of last night...hearing the opening chords of "Wake Up"...house lights go down, COBL starts...a great experience. Bonus...went to the concert with my wife and three other couples, who are great friends and that made the whole experience awesome! I wish I was going to the show tonight!
