Well, I'm back from the atlanta show and as harsh as I sounded about the charlotte show, I am as thrilled about the atlanta show. I felt as though it was important to be honest. That said- ATLANTA ROCKED! All of my feelings of predictability were pushed aside and I watched them put on a supercharged show. Atlanta is a hip, trendy town, and with it being a friday night and the band looking forward to heading out to the clubs afterward- well, there was a party mood, the band seemed superenergized and playeed like it. There was just more electricity tonight than last night. Couple of notes:
- Sweetest Thing...not quite sure about this one...not much energy, the crowd sat down and zoned out the band for this one.
- The Fly reworked is really beautiful, many of the girls around me were totally swooning when Bono does the first lines a cappella "Love..."
- Edge is just the man, what else is there to say? Bono is the shiny paint job, Edge is the kickass engine under the hood.
- Bono was just more chatty tonite, much better job. This is what I was referring to in my other review- when they get away from the tired script, it simply works better. I hope they keep it up!
