This was my 4th Vertigo tour show, and I still can't decide which of them were better than the others.
The setlist was good I thought. I went in to it a little skeptical because I've never really been a fan of John Lennon, but Instant Karma was incredible. I was also quite glad that they've brought back Until the End of the World; it's a great song live. Speaking of which, I think I can confidently say that the Edge literally running around the ellipse while still playing the whole picking part to the outro perfectly has to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen Edge do. And the Edge has done a plethora of amazing things..
I did notice one unusual occurrence, however. Before the show, a couple minutes after Institute left the stage, Dallas was tuning and checking guitars like normal, but he was playing Desire. Not once, not twice, but three times he would come out and mess around with riffs from Desire, including the solo. I've watched him soundcheck the guitars all 4 shows that I've been to this year and he hadn't done that, so I was hoping it meant they would play Desire later. But alas, look for that song later in the tour I guess.
The usual highlights applied (i.e. Streets = God, WOWY was extremely cool, Sunday Bloody Sunday really got people jumping, etc.). Bono's voice sounded really great; he hit the hard notes in Sometimes and Miss Sarajevo with more strength than I've heard him do so before.
So, I'm yet to be disappointing by this band. They better come back soon..
