Observations of my 1st U2 concert from an older rock fan: Cleveland 12/10/05
lot of new things for this concert veteran.we used to light matches to flatter the band...Bono prompted everyone to open their cell phones and the place was glowing with thousands of little blue lights...absolutely amazing.
alot of bands have members that grovel for the spotlight and see themselves as bigger then the band...U2 is about as together as any band I have ever seen..its obvious that they have an intimate friendship with one another and are playing as one,the result of this synergy is a musical freight train that roars at you without pause.
what happened to the painted sheet behind the stage with the Bands logo... I have never seen such an explosion of color & sound since I quit doing window pain...it was a non stop elctric light circus...
I wonder if they can sence the audinece & how Cleveland ranked because we had a blast,& feel like the whole place was really into it...no one sat down or stopped singing all night...
not going to play wish they would of done this song or that because their hit portfolio is so large that you will always miss something. Think that Lennon tribute: "Instant Karma" stood out as a great surprise and really took our breath away. The acoustic stuff is priceless & really showcases their heart & soul.
very impressive, a genuine event, and worth the $$$$$ ,however, shame on Gund/Rock Finacial for running out of Beer on the 4th floor...did they think it was the camper RV show instead of U2
Thanks U2
