Well, what do ou expect? A spaceship/claw that lights up all different colors, a rotating drum set,a couple of moving bridges that goes right above people in the inner circle, and oh yeah, the biggest band in the world.
I don't think I need to tell you how good the concert was. Breathe led off just fine, people were singing along more than I thought, Get On Your Boots was 10x better than expected, really a great song live. Bono let us sing the first verse and chorus of I Still Haven't Found... (and we nailed it if i may say so myself. I love the Unforgettable Fire on this tour...During City of Blinding Lights (which was a highlight by itself both musically and light show wise) Bono brought a boy on stage and let him walk away with Bono's glasses. Walk On was great... I loved the speech of Desmond Tutu as well as the clown in the space station live feed, and I'm not dissing him, he is a real clown... and of course the last six songs were spctacular as always. Ultraviolet and WOWY stood out. One and streets were great but there's something about U.V. and WOWY that day... I don't know.
Hate to go negative, but there's a couple things I can point out, Larry was struggling early, messing up on Breathe and trying to keep in time, but was solid the rest of the way through with Adam, who I thinked picked him up mid-way and helped him. LArry was great though, don't get me wrong, its just that I was in the inner circle and was watching him closely since I'm a young drummer. He finished real strong, like a strong, steady, preoffesional drummer, just like he is and has been all these years. Adam was great, I loved him. There's a reason why The Edge is one of the best, he did make a mistake though, hit a wrong note, but thats it. And Bono...when does he ever rememeber all the lyrics to his songs?
Anyways, it was one of the best concerts ever, everyone left happy, even though everybody was disappointed they didn't play "Bad". You have got to go see this concert. The stage and light show work perfectly, bringing us closer to them, and theem closer to us, and giving us a sight during City of Blinding and Streets and take your breath away. Beautiful, concert played by the best band in the world.
