Firstly I have to state that U2 is not in my top 6 favorite bands (Allman Bros, Dead , Bowie, Stones, Clapton and Kiss) but I have seen them on 2 of the previous 3 tours and this was definitely the best overall experience. There were some duds from the new album and I'll never understand how a band can end the show on new material-moment of surrender- believe me their is a reason Kiss ends every show with Rock and roll all night and the Stones with Brown Sugar.
the hookup to the founder of cirque du soleil in outer space was very cool!
The sound was superb, the stage incredible, and about 2/3rds of the songs fantastic.
More importantly in a bad economy these guys packed more people ever into RayJay and there is nothing like 70K people at a show-high energy The video and stage made the Stadium seem cozy- I would bet you could hear perfectly and see quite a bit from the parking lot. I'm surprised this was the only Florida date- I'm sure they could have sold out Miami for two nights but Lucky for Tampa they came here.
No other band could pull off this mammoth of an effort and the sound that one guitarist creates is astounding- Rating A
