I attened the best concert I have ever been to. That's right, u2, Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY. In 1997, my cousin and I went to the PopMart Tour at Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio, and we thought we were on top of the world. Four years later, and another state away, it got better, amazingly. Not only was the show 'barebones', but it was more intimate. Our $45 tickets got us about 5 feet from the heart stage that the 4 members pranced around on for 2 hours. Yes, I was in heaven.
For 9 years u2 has been my favorite band; I only play their CD's in my house and in my car, much to the dismay of my new wife. Yes, on May 4th, 2001, I got to be 5 feet from the greatest band since the Beatles.
Bono was better than ever, his voice was rejuvinated, and the Edge, Adam, and Larry all were spectacular. They even played my favorite song off 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', 'Kite'. It was just a wonderful experience. Two weeks before I graduate college....wow, what a way to end 4 years. Thank you u2, for a wonderful show. They truly are the greatest rock band in the world (and have been for 20 years!).
David
