I'm still in a state of disbelief as to what exactly happened. The fact that things worked out so well and I had the opportunity to stand in the front row is still sinking in. The show that U2 put on Friday night was amazing. There's definitely something to be said for thel tightness of four musicians who have been playing together for nearly 25 years. I saw U2 twice on the PopMart tour, but neither show could rival what I saw in Lexington. Songs off of the new album such as Elevation, New York, and In a Little While were seamlessly mixed with older favorites such as Bad, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Desire, and a blistering version of Bullet the Blue Sky. The show had a very relaxed feeling to it when compared to how choreographed the last tour had been. As usual, Bono was able to work the crowd into a complete frenzy. To me, one of the night's most memorable moments was the band introduction. It seemed to convey just how close the band members are to each other and to their fans. As anyone who attended can attest, the night was definitely one to remember. Only U2 could make waiting 7 hours in the sun well worth it. And they did.
