So show one of three for this tour is under my belt and I was blown away by the "CLAW"! But, I'm going to be honest. I don't see how they can charge 260 dollars for where I sat because I still felt pretty far away from the main stage but hey...you live and learn.

Muse took the stage at 7:30 and played a 42 minute set. Very nice flow. They played 8 songs and several were recognized by many in attendance.

U2 came on right at 9pm or at least the intro started around then. I do not think many people in Virginia own the new album because when they played the new songs it was quietest save for "blue room" which was really quiet. I was singing along and really into "breathe" from the get go but was shocked at how everyone else in the expensive seats waited for a more familiar song to start to express themselves. I hope they don't remove that song from kicking off the show because it is killer. I thought the crowd sucked big time at the beginning of the show right up until New Years Day. I think the crowd got more and more into the show as it developed and I think Bono did a great job of rallying the noise. He was funny introducing the band referring to them as college students and identifying Edge as the "nerd", Larry as the "jock", and Adam as the "stud". Much laughter all around. The sound was fantastic and I'm excited to compare my initial reactions to the next two shows in Raleigh and Atlanta which I will be attending.
