Just got back. My wifey and I bought 4 VIP packages for ourselves and a couple of friends. We sat 2nd row on Adam's side. I haven't been to a lot of u2 shows (10 in total) but I have witnessed almost every tour back to JT.
Good: this is -not just "one of"- but THE SINGLE greatest technical and logistical achievement in the history of live music. I almost feel sorry for anyone who does NOT get to see this spectacle. Rolling Stones have nothing on this. Breathtaking like "O" at the Bellagio in Vegas. Something you can never forget.
Bad: It's just TOO big!! Every thing was perfect but somehow...this was not the emotional experience of prior tours. I saw VERTIGO twice with terrible seats and terrible sound problems and there was still a better connection btw band and audience. I left impressed but with some lingering feelings of emptiness. I've never felt that way leaving a U2 show before...Bono and the boys -as much as I worship the ground they walk on- have simply bitten off more than they can chew. Next time out I hope they stick to the Arenas.
