A night I will never forget. I got the feeling the guys wanted the fans to be the stars of the show. Aside from a few VIPs, there werw a lot of people from out of state: Maine, Virginia, Florida. All winners of radio stations, including myself. The police escorted bus ride (where not even red lights were going to stop us from reaching our destination) was exciting. Fans waved to the buses en route. Being partly from Somerville, as a kid I watched movies in the old Vaudeville theatre and was surprised at how fantastic the acoustics were. I was incredibly lucky to have seats in the "orchestra". When Bono signaled the fans to move up closer to the stage, I ended up fourth row center for the entire set. He's an amazing performer. The theatre was very hot, the sweat was trickling down Bono's face. He reached his hand out to all the fans up front, talked one on one to some between songs, and they were so genuine, charming and funny. It was a night of "reverie and revelry" - thanks for the memory!
