My wife an I were in college at the time. We both had gotten tickets for the show but also had an evening class together that was the same time as the show. We went to the class, then looked at each other and slipped out the back and made it to the Spectrum before the show started. We laugh about why we would even think skipping the concert.
I've been to plenty of shows in lifetime and the one thing I will take away from this one that I've never experienced from any other was how loud the audience was screaming when U2 walked on stage. It took on a life of it's own and went on for 10 solid minutes.
In '85 U2 was THE hottest band and the crowd responded. Great show.
